I was being interviewed for a new job and as I walked into the interview room, the interviewer made a funny face. I asked if something was wrong. The interviewer said my perfume took him by surprise. I had a problem focusing after that because I was so taken aback by his rude comment. Should I report this to higher management so they know what he did?
Dear Stinky –
No, just stop being dense and go easy on the perfume. People shouldn’t smell you as soon as you walk into the room unless you are trying to make them queasy on purpose – which can be fun. Once you stop stinking up the room, interviewers won’t be “rude” and you won’t be single-handily destroying the local atmosphere.
